Smile, you’re on camera. Ann’s a history student on a gap year, roaming India in perfect, Instagrammable moments. Her great-grandfather served in Calcutta during the war, and Ann’s retracing his footsteps with keen interest and a keener appetite. She’s snap-and-snacked her way through the remnants of the Raj but her single-most OMG memory was being served the Jackfruit Moilee. She took one nibble, then one more, and with one hungry mouthful after another, she licked the plate clean… before realising that she’d forgotten to take a picture! Oh, the delicious agony. We empathise, because it happens to the best of us. The light may be perfect, the camera may be ready, but when food calls, you have to answer. Ann, #WeUnderstand.
